YELLOW WHISTLES FOR GREG
January 21-25, 2026
Join us in honoring Greg Von Rueden during our annual Yellow Whistles for Greg campaign. Officials across Southeastern Wisconsin will use yellow whistles during games (excluding college) to remember Greg and support the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
This year marks the 12th anniversary of Greg’s passing from osteosarcoma on January 22, 2014. The campaign has raised over $135,000 in 12 years, and this year we aim to raise $15,000 to fulfill Joniel’s wish. Joniel, a 5-year-old from Milwaukee who’s living with a nervous system disorder, dream is to go to Walt Disney World Resort.

Wisconsin Basketball Officials Association (WBOA) is the largest basketball officials association in the state of Wisconsin. Through partnerships with the National Association of Sports Officials (NASO) and California Basketball Officials Association (CBOA), the WBOA provides the highest quality basketball officials’ training and development in the State of Wisconsin.
